Celebrities
This year’s season of “Let’s Dance” once again features a wide variety of candidates. RTL had already announced 14 prominent participants at the beginning of January. With Detlef Soost, Stefano Zarrella, Lina Larissa Strahl and Eva Padberg, there will probably be at least one celebrity for every generation. This year the jury again consists of Joachim Llambi, Jorge González and Motsi Mabuse.
On Friday, RTL surprised everyone with the news that another celebrity would be venturing onto the stage. The replacement has made a lot of headlines in recent months. The fact that he is now taking part in the celebrity dance show is quite surprising.
“Let’s Dance”: RTL announces replacement
Actors, singers and comedians will all be taking the step onto the dance floor in just a few weeks, where they will develop into dance virtuosos with the help of the “Let’s Dance” professionals. On Friday, RTL suddenly announced that there would be a replacement candidate. The reason: Parkour and freerunning athlete Simon Brunner had to cancel his participation for personal reasons.

Biyon Kattilathu now comes into play for him. In recent months he has made headlines, especially when Oliver Pocher made fun of him. The comedian created his own fictional character, Dalai Karma, to parody him. Biyon had contact with Pocher’s wife Amira several times.
“I’m really happy to be part of “Let’s Dance” and am very grateful that I was given this opportunity! A dream is becoming reality – so beautiful!” said Biyon about his participation, according to RTL. And he added:
“It’s going to be an amazing journey. I want to grow personally from this exciting challenge and of course offer everyone a great show!”
By the way: Both Oliver and Amira Pocher were already candidates in the dance show. He ventured onto the floor in 2019, she was there in season 15, which ran in 2022. Amira was dancing with Massimo Sinató at the time.

Pocher promptly teases
It was foreseeable that Oliver Pocher would react immediately to the news about Biyon. Just a few minutes after RTL’s announcement, he made mocking comments. “Dancing is his life. I’m excited to see how it goes,” said Oliver Pocher about Biyon. He also took up the topic again on his fictional character’s Instagram account. “The Dalai Karma begins to dance!” he wrote there.

In any case, it can be expected that he will enjoy Biyon’s participation in the RTL show. Pocher will certainly give his comment on February 23rd at the latest when it comes to which celebrities are dancing with which professionals. The public dispute between the two is likely to continue a little longer.
