Bertelsmann and RTL: Massive cuts at Gruner + Jahr – Medien

For weeks, the approximately 1,500 employees of the traditional Hamburg publishing house Gruner + Jahr feared for their professional future and the future of their magazine titles. It is now clear that the core of the publishing house and many of the major brands will not be sold, despite numerous purchase offers from other publishers. But there will be massive cuts – many issues and hundreds of jobs will be deleted. This was explained by Bertelsmann CEO Thomas Rabe on Tuesday morning in Hamburg.
