Netflix is ​​ending the year with a thriller highlight: The “Money Heist” spin-off “Berlin” about the notorious master thief is in the starting blocks. The first trailer has now been released.

“House of Money” is one of the most successful Netflix series at all. The last, fifth season of the Spanish production alone counted 792 million hours streamed – placing it in fifth place among the most watched series of all time.

At the end of the year, “House of Money” fans can now look forward to an expansion of the series universe: the spin-off “Berlin” takes place a few years before the events of the hit series, but here too a spectacular robbery is at the core of the plot. And the title of the spin-off should also be familiar to “House of Money” viewers – not in relation to the German capital, but in relation to the criminal Andrés de Fonollosa Gonzalves, known from the series, who operates under the pseudonym “Berlin”. So there is a reunion with main actor Pedro Alonso – and other well-known faces are also in the spin-off.

The first one that has now been published Trailer now gives a first taste of the actions that take place in Berlin’s life before the main series. At this time he is planning to break into the largest auction house in Paris in order to steal jewelry worth $44 million. He is supported by cybersecurity expert Keila, played by Michelle Jenner, his friend Damián, played by Tristán Ulloa, and Bruce (Joel Sánchez), a “relentless man of action,” as stated in Netflix’s official character description is called.

In the clip you can see how the new team prepares for their raid, which will take them through the catacombs of Paris should lead. But it would be boring if the focus was “only” on theft – and so Berlin also passes its time with women and serious and less serious relationships. The trailer also reveals which characters from the main series will also be there: the police duo Rachel Murillo and Alicia Sierra, who seem to get along great in the spin-off.

As with “House of Money”, Jesús Colmenar directed the series, and series author Álex Pina is responsible for the script. The eight episodes of the first season were filmed in Paris and Madrid.
