A Bayreuth hairdresser showed a good instinct shortly before Christmas – and thus rescued a senior citizen from an emergency. When the loyal customer did not show up for the regular appointment on Friday, he suspected that the 88-year-old was in trouble and called the police. The officers opened the apartment door with the fire brigade and found the elderly woman lying on the floor in her living room. She had fallen and could not get up on her own. The woman was taken to hospital with a head laceration. The hairdresser probably prevented worse things from happening with his intervention, the officials emphasized. The lady, now very old, had been reliable and punctual at her hairdresser’s for 30 years. When she didn’t come that Friday, the man went looking for her. Through the years of conversations while cutting his hair, he knew where she lived. Nobody answered his knocking and ringing, so the barber called the police.
