Didn’t he go to hand over the money himself because he foresaw the arrest? An alleged fortune teller is said to have taken several hundred thousand euros from a woman.

An alleged one Fortune teller is said to have cheated a 38-year-old from Bavaria out of several hundred thousand euros. A 24-year-old woman who was allegedly involved in the fraud was arrested during a planned money handover, the Regensburg police announced on Friday. The 38-year-old filed a complaint in Sulzbach-Rosenberg on Wednesday. A few weeks earlier she had contacted an esoteric service that was advertised on a foreign television station.

The woman gradually paid several hundred thousand euros for these services. After another six-figure claim, she became suspicious and contacted the police. She agreed with the woman that the money would be handed over in an accompanied manner. The 24-year-old was arrested while picking up the car in a parking lot in the city.

Professionals behind fortune teller fraud in Bavaria

The officials assume that the fraud is professionally organized by several people and that this was not an isolated case. The 24-year-old is being investigated on initial suspicion of commercial fraud. She is in custody.
