Bavaria: point deduction for the coleslaw – Bavaria

The folk festival in Murnau, Upper Bavaria, begins this Friday, and according to the announcements by the festival host, everything will be the same as usual. In detail, the dirndls are smart again, the boys too, the delicacies are good, the festival beer is tasty, the music is hearty, and everything will be exactly as it is listed in the already rather worn standard work “Bairisch für Festwirte”. As far as the delicacies are concerned: almonds, chicken, pork knuckle, duck, red cabbage, dumplings, snacks, burgers, crêpes – and not a single word about coleslaw! The Administrative Court of Munich paid special tribute to him.

Actually, it was only this coleslaw that made the innkeeper the Murnau innkeeper again. It remains to be seen whether the coleslaw will be just as greasy as the cover of the standard work. Because the coleslaw is made fresh, right in the marquee and in complete contrast to the coleslaw that the competing landlord wanted to serve to the people of Murnau, which was apparently prepared elsewhere. So 15 points ahead for the defending champion and first place before the administrative court.

Originally, however, it was not the judges who chose the landlord, but the main administrative committee of the Murnau municipal council. Because there had been a certain mutual dissatisfaction between the community and the festival host dynasty, which had been established for decades, at the latest during the Corona pandemic, the town hall had publicly advertised the operation of the folk festival for 2023 to 2027 for the first time and introduced a point system for evaluating the hospitality.

The fairground stag came loudly Murnau daily newspaper to 628.75 points, the only competitor to 613.75, i.e. 15 points less, because of the less fresh coleslaw. The councilors decided in favor of the new one anyway, but the old one took a lawyer and inspected the files and obtained an interim order from the court, according to which he has to be a landlord again this year because of the 15 points.

What it will look like in the years 2024 to 2027 does not require an urgent decision, which is why the court will probably only deal with it in the autumn. The coleslaw should be eaten by then. If not: Only the fresh ones in Murnau next year!
