Bavaria: District administrators demand complete control of German borders – Bavaria

Bavaria’s district administrators are calling on the federal government to fully monitor Germany’s borders. “The illegal influx must be limited and controlled. Foreigners who are not entitled to stay must be repatriated consistently and promptly. Germany needs a coherent legal immigration policy,” said the President of the Bavarian District Council, District Administrator Thomas Karmasin (CSU). The federal police must therefore fully secure and monitor the borders. Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) must “finally” make refugee policy a top priority and take a new course, it said.

The 71 Bavarian districts called for an immigration strategy that is based on a strict separation between asylum, escape and regular migration. The federal government has been closing its eyes and ears for a year instead of providing solutions. In view of the increasing number of refugees nationwide, Karmasin emphasized that the accommodation and care capacities are exhausted in many places, “integration is no longer even an option. In all areas – from health care for refugees to childcare – the situation is extremely tense.”

Karmasin also called for more money from the federal government: “Berlin must better support and relieve our municipalities in terms of accommodation, care and integration. This is the only way to end the ongoing emergency mode and enable an orderly process for the people and the municipalities.” The population has long been overwhelmed by the situation. Berlin and Brussels would therefore have to limit and control “illegal immigration”.

This also includes consistently and promptly deporting foreigners without a residence permit. “People who are fleeing war and whose lives are threatened at home must be able to find real protection in Europe and not have to eke out an existence in a gymnasium in a confined space and threatened by disease outbreaks because of a misguided migration policy,” said Karmasin.
