Barca need a right-back position and are reportedly working on a free transfer for Cesar Azpilicueta
FC Barcelona are working on signing full-back Cesar Azpilicueta from Chelsea. Like transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported, the Catalans would like to sign the 32-year-old on a free transfer in the summer.
The working paper of the Spanish international with the reigning Champions League winner expires at the end of the season, an extension at the club of coach Thomas Tuchel has been dragging on so far.
Two-year deal for Azpilicueta at Barca?
At Barcelona, on the other hand, Azpilicueta could get a two-year contract until 2024 with the option of one more season.
Barca have a need for the right-back position as while Sergino Dest has not lived up to expectations so far, 38-year-old veteran Dani Alves’ contract expires in the summer.
