Baluchon Kalzennig – this tiny house is pretty opulent with modest external dimensions

Large Tiny Houses are more common in the USA, in Europe they are also rarer because of the more rigid driver’s license regulations. With the Kalzennig, Baluchon from France presents a space miracle that accommodates an entire house at a length of around 6 metres. With a few compromises, life like in a large apartment is possible. Basically, the Kalzennig follows the classic structure with a half-height attic. There are two bedrooms. One for the couple of the house, the other more of a children’s room. The middle part is interesting. This gallery is spanned by a net, so one can move from one relaxation room to the next, yet the generosity of the open floor remains.

In keeping with the size, the little house is based on a two-axle trailer with a correspondingly long metal frame. The house made of cedar wood is built on top of it. The interior design is simple and unfussy, but appealing. The large windows flood the interior with light. In the living and dining room, the table can be folded in and the bed extended. A projection screen was installed here for a movie night. The kitchen is generously equipped and has an oven with four-burner propane gas stove and fridge-freezer. The bathroom even has a shower measuring 80 cm x 100 cm. The tiny house is organically insulated with cotton, flax and hemp.

A price is not given, but it should probably be over 80,000 euros. The Tiny House Kalzennig is not, as is so often the case, intended as tourist accommodation. It serves as a full-time residence for buyers. With its manageable length, it can be moved with a little practice and could also be used for travel.
