Large parts of Germany have been able to look forward to summery temperatures in the past few days. In southern Baden, things suddenly looked very different in the afternoon.

A storm in the afternoon led to wintry road conditions in southern Baden in Baden-Württemberg. Hail of grain sizes between around one and three centimeters in diameter rained down for minutes, especially on the town of Teningen.

According to the first information from the fire brigade in Emmendingen, there was no significant damage.

The German Weather Service warned of severe thunderstorms in large parts of Baden-Württemberg on Friday evening. Locally, trees could be uprooted or roofs damaged, branches or roof tiles could fall. Cellars and streets could also be flooded. The meteorologists called for people not to stay outdoors and to keep their distance from buildings and trees.
