An infant was placed in front of the clinic in Immenstadt im Allgäu. The newborn was found in the entrance area of the emergency room on Tuesday morning, police reported on Wednesday. According to the current status of the investigation, the child was discarded shortly after birth. According to the information, the infant was slightly hypothermic at the time, but in good health. Witnesses had previously seen a 20 to 25-year-old woman who, according to the police, could be the baby’s mother.
The child was taken into care by the youth welfare office of the district of Oberallgäu and should come to a foster family after being released from the hospital. The agency indicated that the mother “will receive any type of support should she come forward.”
