Russia’s Emergencies Ministry has published a list of those killed in the attack on a concert hall near Moscow. Accordingly, there are now 143 deaths.

The official death toll in the attack on the “Crocus City Hall” near Moscow has increased: The Russian Emergencies Ministry published on its website on Wednesday evening a numbered list with 143 names of the victims who, according to information from the Ministry of Health, are dead.

In the attack near the Russian capital on Friday, four gunmen stormed a concert center and opened fire. A major fire then broke out. At least 140 people were killed, a total of 360 were injured and 155 had to be treated in hospitals.

Russia’s Health Minister Mikhail Muraschko announced on Wednesday morning that 23 people are currently being treated as inpatients and are awaiting discharge. Accordingly, four of them are in critical condition.

Four suspects in court

After the attack, Russian security forces quickly arrested eleven people in connection with the crime. Four men accused of involvement in the attack were brought before Moscow’s Basmanny District Court on Sunday. Their faces bore obvious signs of torture; one of them could not walk and could barely speak. Violent videos circulated on Telegram, which are said to show, among other things, how a security officer cuts off the ear of one of the detainees, puts it in his mouth and asks him to eat it.

The four men from Tajikistan are charged with committing a terrorist attack resulting in death. The IS offshoot “Khorasan Province”, which recruits men willing to carry out attacks primarily in Central Asia, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Moscow blames “the West”

Russian authorities and politicians also speak of an Islamist-motivated act, but assume that the perpetrators acted on behalf of Ukraine or the so-called “Collective West”. They don’t provide any evidence for this.

Both Ukraine and members of the government of France, Great Britain and the USA have confirmed evidence that the terrorist militia IS was responsible and rejected the allegations as absurd.
