Golf instead of tennis court: Zverev treats himself to a break in Halle

On his day off, Alexander Zverev changes sports. For two other Germans, on the other hand, things are getting serious on the tennis court.
After a good start to the grass season, Alexander Zverev is enjoying a day off at the tournament in Halle, Westphalia.
The quarter-finals of the tennis Olympic champion against Chilean Nicolas Jarry is only scheduled for Friday, so that Zverev can regain some strength. After an early training session, Zverev wants to enjoy the day and play a round of golf.
“The place is two minutes away, I have my golf bag with me,” said Zverev after his confident 6: 2, 6: 4 in the round of 16 against Canadian Denis Shapovalov. But the 26-year-old doesn’t want to waste too much energy on the golf course. “There is a very good, very nice invention for all golfers who want to do very, very little sport, like me tomorrow – a golf cart,” said Zverev. “I’ll use that and not take a single extra step that I don’t have to.”
So while Zverev is recovering, another German tennis duo is fighting for a place in the quarter-finals at the Terra Wortmann Open. In the second game of the day, Jan-Lennard Struff meets Kazakh Alexander Bublik in the round of 16. Then Yannick Hanfmann has to deal with the Russian Andrej Rubljow in the OWL Arena.
