The association believes that it is an everyday consumer product and that its price should not fluctuate as much.
Especially since according to Philippe Nozière, “in a certain number of stations, the prices are practically 2 euros depending on the fuel”. “We returned to fuel price levels where everyone considered it to be intolerable when the State had taken measures to lower the price of fuel and distributed checks,” he underlines. Hence the petition, the number of signatures of which is not communicated due to lack of “reliable feedback”.
“Variable” for the state budget
The objective: “to alert the government” and try to make their proposal heard. “Today, even if it increases, the price of a barrel does not increase in extremely important conditions while the price of fuel continues to increase,” argues the president of “40 million consumers”.
Furthermore, “taxes on fuel represent 60% of the price of the liter, at this level it’s more than tax, it’s racketeering! “, he still protests, regretting that “motorists are used as a variable for adjusting the state budget.”
Philippe Nozière and his association then hope to collect “as many signatures as possible”, at least a “significant number within four to five days”, hoping that it will appeal to the top of the State.
