Mark Zuckerberg was 20 years old when he created Facebook, in his dorm room at Harvard University. Pierre and Noâm are even more precocious than the American prodigy. These Narbonnais are 17 years old, and are still in high school. But when they’re not clogging up their classes, these two have been working on the project they’ve cherished for almost nine months: a social network fully dedicated to fitness and bodybuilding enthusiasts.
Placetrainer.fr (that’s its name) is open, free of charge, to all Internet users who push iron, to those who have impossible sessions on elliptical bikes… But also to those who are just starting out with aquagym, boxing or crossfit. “We both practice bodybuilding with Noâm, and we realized that it was always very complicated to find amateurs or professionals who have the same passion as us,” confides Pierre to 20 minutes. We searched, but we didn’t find any site or social network that brings together enthusiasts of these disciplines. So, we created it! »
Share your performances and interact with other fans
On Placetrainer.fr, everyone, from beginners to experienced competitors, is passionate about these disciplines. As on a completely traditional social network, you can share your performances and your doubts, your nutritional recommendations, photos, videos and interact with other members. In kindness, promises the duo. But the little extra of Placetrainer.fr is the possibility, for any Internet user, to find in two clicks, by doing a geolocalized search and by discipline, a professional coach capable of giving them good advice. Or a good workout room. Or a specialized center. “We want to break down the barriers between amateurs and professionals, and create positive synergies for everyone,” rejoices Noâm.
For fitness or bodybuilding enthusiasts, access to this new social network, on the Internet or via the dedicated application, is free. Professionals who wish to be listed on this platform, however, must pay a little less than 10 euros per month. Much, much cheaper than regular advertising on Facebook or Instagram, point out the two young entrepreneurs.

These two got along well: Noam studies management and marketing, while Pierre plans to study dietetics. For a social network about bodybuilding and fitness, it’s not useless. ” We complete each other ! », confides Pierre. So yes, embarking on such a project at 17 is not trivial. But they can count on their friends for motivation. And on their parents, fully behind them, to give them a helping hand. It was Noâm’s father, webmaster, who created the architecture of the site.
If this is, for the moment, only the beginning, “we are very happy, very proud, of what we have managed to create,” smiles Pierre. And the excellent feedback we get motivates us! » “We want to go further, even further! », adds Noâm. Biceps emoticon, for these high school students.
