In a Tiktok clip, Arafat Abou-Chaker can be seen with the Salafist preacher Pierre Vogel. Abou-Chaker compares Adolf Hitler with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Berlin State Security Service is investigating allegations of sedition against the head of a well-known Arab clan in connection with the Hamas attack on Israel: Arafat Abou-Chaker.

The background is a video clip on Tiktok in which Abou-Chaker can be seen with the Salafist preacher Pierre Vogel. The Central Council of Jews linked the video on the X platform, formerly Twitter, and called on the Berlin police to investigate sedition. Young people are being “ideologically poisoned” on Tiktok every day, the Central Council explained.

Abou-Chaker compares Adolf Hitler with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. State security at the State Criminal Police Office was involved, said a police spokeswoman. She did not provide any further information. The police had previously responded to the Central Council’s post on X: “Of course we forwarded the video to our state security department for review.” The “Tagesspiegel” first reported.

Abou-Chaker said in the recording posted by the Central Council: “I say quite honestly: for me, Adolf Hitler is better than Netanyahu.” At the same time, the 47-year-old said: “I am not a supporter of Adolf Hitler.” For him, he was a “mass murderer, a dictator.” When asked by the German Press Agency, Abou-Chaker initially did not comment further on the incident.

The Abou-Chakers originally come from Lebanon and immigrated to Germany in the 1980s. Arafat Abou-Chaker in particular became known through his friendship and later enmity with the rapper Bushido. Investigators have filed more than 30 cases against the clan leader in recent years.
