Apple has increased the prices of some of its most popular subscriptions, not only in Germany and Austria but also in the US. The reasons are said to be the increased cost of music licenses and the growing Apple TV+ catalogue.

Apple customers will have to pay more for many subscriptions in the future because Apple today increased the prices for Apple Music, Apple TV+ and Apple One. The price increases are between 1 and 3 euros depending on the subscription, with the prices in the USA being increased equally, so this is not due to exchange rate fluctuations. The new prices are as follows:

  • Apple Music (individual): 10.99 euros (+ 1 euro)
  • Apple Music (Family): 16.99 euros (+ 2 euros)
  • Apple TV+: 6.99 euros (+ 2 euros)
  • Apple One (individual): 16.95 euros (+ 2 euros)
  • Apple One (Family): 22.95 euros (+ 3 euros)
  • Apple One (Premium): 31.95 euros (+ 3 euros)

Opposite to 9to5Mac Apple has stated that the Apple Music price increase is due to increased licensing costs. With the more expensive subscription, artists should now also earn more if their music is streamed on Apple Music. Apple TV+, on the other hand, is said to have been launched around three years ago at a comparatively low price because Apple offered comparatively little content at the start.

In the meantime, however, the catalog has grown to include a wide selection of award-winning programs. The Apple One price increase comes from the combination of Apple Music and Apple TV+ price increases, since Apple One includes both services. Apple Arcade is still available for EUR 4.99 per month, Apple Fitness+ costs EUR 9.99 per month or EUR 79.99 per year as usual.
