On a train from Würzburg to Ansbach, a 19-year-old pretended to be a railway employee and sneaked a ride in the locomotive driver’s cab. The man was wearing a dark blue vest with a service badge and posed as a trainee for Deutsche Bahn (DB) in the restaurant area, the federal police said on Monday in Nuremberg.
The train driver let him ride in the driver’s cab, but during the journey he had doubts about the man’s credibility. During a police check, the 19-year-old was able to present a ticket, but no ID card. In addition, his name was not known to the railway. The 19-year-old then threatened and insulted the officers. After the incident on Friday evening, criminal trespassing, insults and threats are being investigated. The vest with the railway logo was confiscated.
