Angela Gebhard wants to protect dolphins – Munich

Angelika Gebhard sailed around the world with her husband Rollo, without radio and only with a sextant as a navigation aid. About two adventurers who followed their dreams.

She heard this wave of monsters rolling in. It was a roar, louder than anything that had struck their ship for hours. A tremendous storm threw hers Solveig back and forth like a nutshell. “Rollo was sleeping”, says Angelika Gebhard – there was nothing more you could do anyway than to surrender to the force of nature and hope that everything would go well. She sat there and counted the minutes. Then it happened. The ship capsized, they flew out of their bunks and drifted keel up in the North Atlantic. For a moment, says Angelika Gebhard, she thought: That’s it.
