A supervisor of the universal national service (SNU) is in turmoil. He is suspected of assault and sexual harassment of minors, several of whom have filed a complaint, Vesoul public prosecutor Arnaud Grécourt announced on Monday.

“On (Wednesday) April 24, 2024, the police services of the Vesoul police station received several complaints from minors carrying out their universal national service in Vesoul and denouncing inappropriate actions on the part of one of their supervisors”, indicates in a press release the magistrate.

In the investigation, seven young boys “aged 15 to 17” thus “denounced inappropriate actions committed against them during the session that began on April 15, 2024 in Vesoul”, according to them by this 19-year-old supervisor, indicates the magistrate in a press release.

“Three of these minors have, to date, filed a complaint. The accused (…) was placed in police custody” on April 24, a measure lifted the next day, indicates Mr. Grécourt, according to which the suspect “was notified of his dismissal from the universal national service”.

The investigation was entrusted to the territorial crime division of the Vesoul police station and “must continue, in particular to determine the exact circumstances of the commission of the facts”, according to the prosecutor.

According to Current Valueswhich revealed the affair, the suspect would have “minimized the facts and justified his actions by a rape he suffered at the age of 5”.
