That’s why Bayern wants to get rid of Mané

FC Bayern wants to part ways with Sadio Mané after just one year. There are not only sporting reasons for this.

While FC Bayern is working flat out on Harry Kane’s blockbuster transferSadio Mané’s time with the record champions seems to be coming to an end after just one year.
Mané and Bayern: Misunderstanding instead of a success story! The club is planning without the Senegalese and told him so.

Mané himself wants to follow SPORT1-Recommended information in the preparation for a second chance, but now also knows that he has a very difficult time under Thomas Tuchel. The Bayern coach made that clear at the start of the short training camp at Tegernsee.

“He knows my opinion and he also knows the opinion of the club,” said Tuchel meaningfully, referring to the high level of competition on the offensive: “The starting position is not easy for him!”
Against this background, Mané’s consultant is already exploring the market and examining various options for switching. Several Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in him.
But why do Bayern want to get rid of the player, who came to Munich from Liverpool in June 2022 to great jubilation and after all took third place in the Ballon d’Or? SPORT1 names the reasons.

1. The incident with Leroy Sané
Sané has Mané for his derailment on the sidelines of the Champions League quarterfinals against Manchester City in April forgiven, but the incident has left its mark in the Bayern cabin. How SPORT1 from around the team, several stars and spokesmen have since moved away from Mané.
Especially since it wasn’t the 31-year-old’s first “freak out”: For example, he snapped at ex-coach Julian Nagelsmann during a training session in front of the assembled team.

2. The achievements of Sadio Mané
12 goals and 6 assists in 38 games – there have been worse debut seasons, especially since Mané a) rarely played in his ideal position, b) was absent for months through injury and c) the missed opportunity to take part in a World Cup with Senegalwas a major mental setback for him.
But in Tuchel’s opinion, other players are simply in front of Africa’s footballer of the year 2022. And because the offensive is already equipped with some top players and Kane is still to come, the club now wants to part with Mané.
The other wingers like Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sané or Serge Gnabry are younger and much better integrated into the team – both on and off the pitch.
3. Sadio Mané’s salary
FCB’s desire to separate is also based on an economic reason: Mané simply earns too much for a player who the coach doesn’t really count on. With an annual salary of over 20 million euros gross, he is one of the top 3 earners in the squad.
The Bayern bosses would therefore like to have him off the payroll as soon as possible – knowing full that Kane’s salary will move in the same category.
