After the death of an employee at the fair, parts of the ride he was operating during the accident disappeared

A week after the death of a ride employee during manipulation work on an attraction at the Caen Easter fair, investigators are facing a real turnaround in the situation. Parts of the ride from which the victim fell have disappeared, reports West France.

“People with bad intentions made these elements disappear to shield them from the investigation,” declared Joël Garrigue, public prosecutor. According to France 3, these pieces were present at the opening of the fair. The prosecution then requested “the opening of a judicial investigation” with a request “for placement in pre-trial detention” of the two men who had been placed in police custody then released on Thursday.

Tuesday and Wednesday, the owner of the ride and the operator of the attraction, in the cockpit at the time of the tragedy, were questioned for “involuntary manslaughter” and “concealed work”. Aged around fifty years, they will therefore be received “by an investigating judge” and could be “indicted”.
