Cities and villages in the west that are far from the front are also being targeted. Despite the allies’ modern missile defense systems, hardly a day goes by without a serious missile strike.

The almost non-stop attacks have also affected the western neighbor Ukraine called into action. Like the Polish army announced via Twitter, fighter jets took off on the night of Good Friday. The operational command warned of increased noise levels in the southeastern part of Polandwhere friendly and allied aircraft operate in the airspace.

The background to the operation was that “intense long-range flight activities by the Russian Federation were observed in connection with missile attacks on objects on the territory of Ukraine”. The safety of Polish airspace should be guaranteed. Warsaw had already put its air force on alert in the past because of Russian attacks. There was also a clear warning to the Kremlin boss Wladimir Putin have been sent.

The Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galuschchenko informed on Facebook about “another massive attack by a terrorist country on our energy sector”. Targets were hit in Dniprpetrovsk, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad and Ivano-Frankivsk, especially power generation facilities.

According to Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk, Ukraine managed to destroy 84 air targets. Accordingly, 58 Shahed drones and 26 missiles were intercepted during the night. He also spoke on Telegram of a “powerful missile and air attack on Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector facilities.” According to him, a total of 99 missiles were counted.

Recently, Kiev also made headlines with targeted air attacks on Russian targets. Here too, the attacks took place at night. But not nearly as massive as on the part of the aggressor, who is probably also relying on the development of a supersonic missile.

Poland sends out jets: Warsaw is on constant alert because of the war in Ukraine

While Ukraine once again came under fire for hours – apparently also from the annexed Crimean peninsula – the Polish fighter jet pilots ended their mission after a few hours. The Polish army explained this early in the morning with the “reduced threat from Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian territory”. The emergency services have returned to their normal operational activities.

Nevertheless, it was another night of increased readiness. Polish soldiers are constantly monitoring the situation on Ukrainian territory and are on constant alert to ensure the safety of Polish airspace. It will probably not be the last time that the jets will take off in Warsaw because of the Russian destructiveness. Just recently Poland had summoned the Russian ambassadorafter Moscow violated NATO airspace. (mg)
