After double murder: charges brought against daughter of victims and friend – Bavaria

In the case of the killed doctor couple in Mistelbach, Upper Franconia, the public prosecutor’s office in Bayreuth brought charges of joint murder against the victims’ daughter and her boyfriend at the district court. The investigations were thus completed after almost six months, the authority announced on Friday. The two suspects remain in custody.

The 51-year-old pediatrician and his 47-year-old wife were believed to have been stabbed to death in their sleep on the night of January 9th. The couple’s four children were in the home at the time of the crime. The then 18-year-old friend of the eldest daughter quickly became the focus of investigators. The young man and the daughter fled to Bayreuth after the crime and turned themselves in to the police. The involvement of the 18-year-old was therefore in the room from the start, while the role of the daughter was initially unclear. Six weeks later, an arrest warrant was issued against the 16-year-old. The two are said to have made the decision together, with the 18-year-old said to have inflicted the fatal stabs on the victims. The motive for the crime may have been internal family disputes.
