AfD politician Daniel Halemba arrested: What the allegations are for the detention – Bavaria

The Würzburg public prosecutor’s office therefore saw the risk of darkening as a reason for detention. In a video recorded before his arrest, the 22-year-old announced that “our people” would “soon bring about the necessary change of power in politics.”

Just a few hours before the first session of the new Bavarian state parliament, the elected AfD MP Daniel Halemba was arrested. According to the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office, the 22-year-old was caught on Monday around eight o’clock in Kirchheim unter Teck, southeast of Stuttgart. The police located him there using cell phone tracking. Halemba is being investigated for incitement to hatred and the use of symbols of anti-constitutional organizations. The initial suspicion was confirmed after the evaluation of evidence. In addition to cell phones, this also included documents from Halemba’s private rooms. As it became known on Friday evening, Halemba was wanted on an arrest warrant. The Southgerman newspaper first reported about it. On Friday, the AfD faction itself announced that there was an arrest warrant against one of its MPs – but without wanting to name him.
