In Bavaria, the state police are investigating members of a group of people who are said to have chanted xenophobic slogans in a discotheque in Greding (Roth district, Middle Franconia administrative region) on Sunday night. According to research by Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), several politicians are among the suspects AfD, including members of the state parliament.

AfD denies involvement of members in incident in Greding

The AfD held its state party conference in the small town at the weekend. “The police have indications that the people were participants in the event,” the investigators said. These indications would be examined.

The state chairman of the AfD in Bavaria, Stephan Protschka, said in an interview with BR that there was no evidence that party members were involved in the chants. “If this is the case, it will be clarified internally and will have severe consequences.”
