Once a year, the Supervisory Board of Schaeffler AG meets for a two-day strategy meeting, most recently on October 5th and 6th, 2023 in Halle an der Saale. The meeting was already coming to an end when Georg Schaeffler came to Hans-Jörg Bullinger and Siegfried Wolf’s table at lunch. As chairman of the supervisory board, he was calling an extraordinary meeting that they were not allowed to attend, he told the two astonished men who had been his close confidants for years.
