Studies show more and more clearly: A regular nap keeps you fit. Just a quarter of an hour of sleep a day is enough to make us more efficient – and could even prevent diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

It is one of the German bad habits to equate a nap with laziness. Most people only understand the desire to snooze in small children and the elderly. In Germany, the nap regularly even concerns the courts, namely when people have been caught sleeping during their working hours. A look at other countries shows the power that lies in short-term sleep. In Japan, its value is already evident in the word. The Japanese don’t simply indulge in doing nothing when dozing off at their desks or on the subway; rather, they engage in “Inemuri,” which translates to “being present while sleeping.”
