A vehicle rushes into a police car, three officers injured in Eure

A police check degenerated during the night from Monday to Tuesday in the town of Val-de-Reuil in Eure, we learned from a police source. Around 2:30 a.m., a first crew tried to intercept a vehicle which had turned off its lights upon seeing the police car.

The driver then refused to comply, according to the police source, confirming information from France Bleu Normandie. A second police car arriving as reinforcement crossed the road to block off but the Mercedes rushed into it at a speed of around 90 km/h.

Two police officers had to be extricated

The three police officers who were on board were seriously injured, two of them having to be extricated by firefighters. Taken to hospital, they were each prescribed five days of ITT. The suspect and his passenger fled on foot and are actively being sought.

“This is undoubtedly yet another attempted murder of police officers,” reacted on X Fabien Vanhemelryck, general secretary of the Alliance Police Nationale union.
