He had been on the run since Sunday. A man in his thirties suspected of a knife murder on the Île de Ré (Charente-Maritime) was arrested Thursday in the Paris region, reports South West.
It was he who called the emergency services during the night from Saturday to Sunday to report that a person had been stabbed at their home in Ars-en-Ré. The victim, aged 55, had received five stab wounds, three of which were fatal in the abdomen.
Placed in police custody, the suspect must be repatriated this Friday to Charente-Maritime to be heard by investigators from the La Rochelle research brigade. Neighbor of the victim, he has already been convicted of drug trafficking.
