A judicial investigation opened for seven facts

The prosecution opened a judicial investigation this Friday for seven facts in the so-called “scooter rapist” case, indicated Eric Vaillant, public prosecutor of Grenoble, in a press release that 20 minutes was able to consult.

“The investigating judge will investigate two acts of rape committed in Grenoble and Saint-Martin-d’Hères on March 11 and 16, an attempted rape committed in Grenoble on March 16, a sexual assault committed in Grenoble on March 17 March, armed violence committed in Grenoble on February 17, an extortion attempt committed in St Martin le Vinoux on February 8 and violence committed in Grenoble on February 8,” he explained.

Several dozen testimonies

Two facts previously mentioned were dismissed by the prosecution and the investigators, the investigations carried out no longer making it possible to retain them against the accused. The broadcast of the rapist’s report allowed the police to collect several dozen testimonies which are processed by investigators diligently.

The Grenoble prosecutor’s office indicated on Tuesday that the police were actively looking for a 20-year-old man riding a black scooter, after several rapes and sexual assaults perpetrated in Grenoble and its outskirts. “The attacker, alone, dressed in black, mounted on a black scooter, spots his victims and follows them before attacking them,” specifies the prosecutor who describes “a 20-year-old man, European type, without accent, of about 1m70 and of normal build or even slightly plump, brown eyes, pale complexion and rather red hair.”
