A Holocaust denier who challenges Oradour-sur-Glane, soon extradited to France

Holocaust denier Vincent Reynouard, returning to France soon? According to France 3 And the BBC, the man must soon be extradited to France. He was arrested in Scotland in November 2022, a country where he fled under a false identity after his convictions in France. Scottish justice has just rejected an appeal he made after a first authorization for extradition in October 2023.

Aged 54, this former Norman student and mathematics teacher in Honfleur, in Calvados, was excluded from National Education and convicted on multiple occasions for negationism. The last, six months in prison, dates back to January 2021, for a video published in 2019 in which he denies the reality of the Shoah.

Questioning the Oradour-sur-Glane massacre

The hunt for Vincent Reynouard began in August 2020 when a tag “Reynouard is right” was found on the memorial of Oradour-sur-Glane, in France, a village whose population had been massacred by the SS Das Reich division on June 10, 1944.

In several videos broadcast on the Internet, Vincent Reynouard questioned this massacre. Considering that the facts with which he is accused in France also constitute crimes under Scottish law, “nothing stood in the way of his extradition”, according to the courts of this country.
