“A Haunting in Venice” in the cinema: When the gondolas wear mustaches – culture

The world is out of balance, the postcard beauty of Venice is cut up. In the very first shots of this film you can see St. Mark’s Square, of course, because it takes place in Venice. The pigeons are just pecking at an angle in the picture because the camera is tilted and no longer seems to be guided by gravity. The figures are captured with a fisheye lens, curved figures in curved spaces. The music is accompanied by Hildur Guðnadóttir on the string harmonies.
