A “brief, but strong” gale expected overnight in Brittany

Alert on the Atlantic coast and the English Channel. According to Météo-France, a risk of waves-submersion is to be feared this night on the coast. The weather forecast site has placed the French coast on yellow alert from Côtes-d’Armor to Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Beyond this risk of heavy seas, a “brief, but strong” gale is expected overnight from Monday to Tuesday, especially in Finistère, where gusts of more than 100 km / h are expected to blow. Due to these disturbed weather forecasts, the speed will be limited to 70 km / h on the Iroise bridge in Brest from 8 p.m. this Monday and until 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. There is also a risk of flooding in the Odet basin.

The tip of Brittany is not the only one affected by this alert. Morbihan, Côtes-d’Armor, Manche, but also Rhône, Isère, Haute-Loire and Loire are also on yellow alert to strong winds.

Arrived Monday by Brittany, this disturbance will spread in the morning from Île-de-France to the Center and Poitou-Charentes regions, then will shift slowly towards the east, losing its activity in the afternoon giving more than showers from the North-East borders towards the Centre-Val-de-Loire and New Aquitaine.
