Hands-on with iPad Air 2024 and iPad Pro M4 | Mac & i Podcast

After a good year and a half without any hardware innovations, Apple has introduced new iPad models and at the same time cleaned up the product range. The iPad Pro 2024 is lighter and thinner and uses a new OLED display with a tandem structure – in both the 11″ and 13″ models: two OLED stacks in the panel promise more brightness, and Apple is also offering the first Try an anti-reflective version. In addition, Apple’s M4 chip is making its surprisingly early debut in the Pro tablets. Important details have also been improved on the iPad Air and it is available in a larger 13-inch version for the first time. There are also new accessories.

In Episode 71, Malte Kirchner and Leo Becker talk about the new iPad lineup. Kirchner describes his hands-on experiences with the iPad Pro M4, the Apple Pencil Pro and the iPad Air 2024. We discuss the central innovations of the tablets as well as the fresh accessories, including the now fourth Pencil and the improved Magic Keyboard. Another topic is the M4 chip and how well the iPad is now positioned overall – from the entry-level to the top model. And we address the central question of whether hardware innovations alone can really advance the iPad.
