A bill of more than 35,000 euros after the farmers’ demonstration on the reflecting pool

The Bordeaux water mirror, which extends over 3,450 m2 between the Garonne and the Place de la Bourse, remains dry. It should have been put back into service at the beginning of April after its winter period but it was damaged during the farmers’ demonstration on March 11 and we do not yet know when it will be able to operate again. The city of Bordeaux hopes that this will be before the end of April.

“The cleaning and restoration work will be carried out by the company Idex which already maintains the site and the amount of the estimate amounts to 35,500 euros,” specifies the city of Bordeaux. A tractor had driven over the mirror to deposit slurry but fortunately there was no apparent damage according to the structural diagnosis carried out by the Bordeaux Métropole building safety service.

It is still unknown whether the 800 m3 of the mirror tank were polluted by slurry. The city filed a complaint against X after these damages.
