Seven people were injured in several accidents on Autobahn 8 south of Munich. A pile-up on Thursday evening was followed by a traffic jam, which resulted in another serious accident, the police said.
Accordingly, the series of accidents between the Holzkirchen and Weyarn junctions began with a burst tire on a truck. Because twelve cars had to avoid the tire parts or were hit by them, a pile-up occurred. There were five injured.
At the end of the traffic jam that was forming, a 34-year-old driver crashed his car into the rear of the truck. He and his 32-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries. The temporary full closure of the A8 in the direction of Salzburg was lifted late in the evening.
