2034 World Cup: Saudi Arabia the only contender

Twelve years after Qatar, Saudi Arabia will most likely have the right to its own Football World Cup. Fifa announced on Tuesday declarations of interest with a view to organizing the 2030 and 2034 World Cups. If there are people for the first with the joint candidacy of Portugal, Spain and Morocco, to which part of Latin America has been added (Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay) “to host the centenary celebration matches”, for the second, Saudi Arabia is alone in the world. It should therefore officially win the most popular tournament in the world at the end of 2024, if all the technical criteria are met.

The ultraconservative kingdom, which has increased investments in football, but also Formula 1 and golf, should succeed the unprecedented tricontinental team for the 2030 edition, shared between Spain, Portugal and Morocco and its three matches in South America.
