In a text of more than 700 words posted on social networks, Christophe Marchais wanted to evoke the humor and kindness of his son, and once again called not to “choose hatred.”
“You didn’t deserve that…” Three days after the death of Matisse, a teenager fatally stabbed in Châteauroux, in Indre, his father published this Tuesday, April 30, a heartbreaking message of more than 700 words on social networks to pay tribute to his son. In this publication, Christophe Marchais says he does not want to “move” or “choose hatred”, but prefers to evoke happy memories with humor.
“The hardest thing today is imagining that we won’t see each other anymore, that I won’t wake you up in the morning when your alarm has been bothering everyone for 30 minutes but you’ve been snoring,” writes- he.
And the father also mentions “a real nice guy, too nice even, who didn’t have the weapons for these associations that you were attracted to for several weeks.”
“I’m going to live for you and laugh in your memory, because what fun could we have my son, damn! You were the king of blunders, you were full of humor, black humor even, because despite your young age, you understood the distinction between that and wickedness,” he adds.
During a first speech on Monday to RTL, the teenager’s father had already called for “not to indulge in hatred and violence.” He was contacted by Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
“He hung out with all kinds of people.”
This image of a “real nice guy” given by the father of the family contrasts with the xenophobic insults that the suspect of the attack, a 15-year-old minor of Afghan origin, invokes as the starting point of the altercation. For Matisse’s friends, it is impossible that he could have uttered such remarks.
“Matisse hung out with people of all kinds, Arabs, blacks, everyone. There were people with him, and these people were Arabs. I think his colleagues would have reacted badly and would have just put in his place (if he had made this kind of comment, Editor’s note)”, said Yacine, one of his friends, to BFMTV.
This opinion is also shared by a second relative of the victim, contacted by telephone by our antenna. He hopes that the world of football, a sport that Matisse was fond of, will pay tribute to him.
“I would like it if at PSG, because he was a big fan, there was a minute of silence. It was another friend, Jules, who asked for that,” he said.
White March
A white march in tribute to the young man will be organized on Saturday afternoon in the city center of Châteauroux, confirmed the city’s mayor, Gil Avérous. This march should pass in front of the establishments that mattered to Matisse: his school, his house, his parents’ restaurant and the one in which he worked.
Monday evening, the main 15-year-old suspect in this attack was indicted for “murder” and placed in pre-trial detention, while his mother, aged 37, was indicted for “intentional violence” against “vulnerable person .”
