But “as the firefighters had just got out of their vehicles”, the blasted tree “suddenly collapsed and dislocated”, very seriously injuring a young volunteer firefighter, aged 19, belonging to the Cula rescue center (Cher), who received the call, the statement said.

After a cardiorespiratory arrest, she was “evacuated in an absolute emergency” by a Civil Security helicopter to the Gabriel Montpied hospital center in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) where she died at the end of the morning.
