Pink and blue: why does it match?

A priori, combining pink and blue doesn’t really come naturally. And yet: together, these two work wonderfully. It must be said that these two colors have a great softness in common. On the color wheel, blue is on the cool color side, while pink falls into the warm color family, even if the latter can have quite cool undertones when it flirts with purple.

Blue and pink create a balanced, subtle and refined palette, which does not lack boldness.

The floral pattern available in pink and blue is a classic of French decoration. Very fashionable in the 18th century, it is still just as hot today. To adopt it, play with the printed duvet cover in the bedroom or with the porcelain in the kitchen. For a very castle-like feel, we adopt it to dress the medallion chair.

The trick then is to choose the shades carefully. Pastel pink and blue are bright. To add more depth, we prefer a more intense gray blue, and a rich pink, even if it means flirting with purple.

Used as a dominant color, blue creates an atmosphere full of freshness, which pink delicately warms. Conversely, pink used as the dominant color creates a warm and comforting atmosphere, which blue refreshes perfectly.
