When he enters the hall, his steps small but still distinguished, he is hardly noticeable in the crowds of the Isarphilharmonie. And yet everyone is there that evening to see him: Zubin Mehta. He will be awarded the Golden Medal of Honor of the City of Munich for his artistic work in Munich, namely for the eight years as general music director at the Bavarian State Opera and his continuous collaboration with the Munich Philharmonic, of which he has been honorary conductor since 2004 and with whom he is currently working on a Brahms cycle works, including concert tours to Spain and the United States.
