ZkSync Invents a ‘Solution’ to Unlock $1.7 Million Stuck in Smart Contracts

The zkSync development team said it devised a solution to unlock the 921 ETH ($1.7 million) trapped in the smart contract used by the Gemholic team on the Era network. by Matter Labs which supports Ethereum smart contracts.

In a statement, zkSync claimed “Safe funds” and “discovered a beautiful way to unlock frozen funds”

On Thursday, The Block’s research director, Eden Au, wasfirstThe project is known to have raised 921 ETH ($1.7 million) through a token sale on zkSync’s Era mainnet, but the money is stuck in a smart contract due to issues with its use..transfer() function

When using the .transfer() function to send Ether to the smart contract, the fallback() function is called. And if the fallback() function requires more than 2300 allocated gas, the transaction may fail and the money will be stuck.

To mitigate these issues, zkSync puts a warning about the .transfer() function directly in the compiler by the zkSync team. sayAdded that Gemholic deploys contracts on Era mainnet with no testing on test network or local nodes.

zkSync is working to fix issues with minor protocol level changes to recover all funds. And there are plans to reveal details soon.
