The European premiere of “Dream Scenario” takes place as part of the Zurich Film Festival. Nicolas Cage is barely recognizable in the film.

The black comedy “Dream Scenario” was released this Thursday (August 24) as the opening film of the Zurich Film Festival announced. In the presence of Norwegian director Kristoffer Borgli (38), President of the Federal Council Alain Berset (51) and Mayor of Zurich Corine Mauch (63), the film, which is also celebrating its European premiere, will be shown on September 28 in the Zurich Convention Center. There will also be a public screening at the same time.

“The film is really up to date and very funny,” explains Christian Jungs (50), Artistic Director of the festival. Nicolas Cage delivered one of the best performances of his career in the role of the professor. It was a real pleasure “to watch him and to root for him”.

appearance in dreams

In “Dream Scenario” the hapless family man Paul Matthews (Cage) is the center of attention. His life is turned upside down when he suddenly appears in the dreams of millions of strangers. When his late-night performances take a nightmarish turn, Paul must cope with his newfound fame. For the role, Cage had to change his appearance a lot, as the first picture shows. With glasses, a full beard, a bald head and a slightly stuffy outfit, he is hardly recognizable.

The cast also includes Dylan Baker (63), Kate Berlant (36), Michael Cera (35), Dylan Gelula (29) and Tim Meadows (62). Due to the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strike, according to “Hollywood Reporter” expects that the cast of “Dream Scenario” will not appear at the premiere in Zurich.

The Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is one of the largest film festivals in the German-speaking world. The 19th edition will take place from September 28 to October 8, 2023.

Meanwhile, “Dream Scenario” from “Everything Everywhere All at Once” studio A24 will celebrate its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival (September 7-17).
