They’re pointed and high: Zendaya always wears Christian Louboutin’s “So Kate” pumps. Her stylist now explained how it came about.
She is known for her numerous unique looks on the world’s red carpets and is considered a fashion icon. On the other hand, there seems to be less variety on Zendaya’s (27) feet. Her stylist Law Roach (45) now explained why the actress has been wearing the “So Kate 120” pumps for years Christian Louboutin bets.
“I think the ‘So Kate’ is one of the most versatile shoes. It’s also one of the most painful,” Roach said to Recho Omondi on her podcast “The Cutting Room Floor”. Still, the pointed, high-heeled pumps with the famous red sole have become Zendaya’s favorite shoe: “It actually started when she was 14 years old, and I remember she wore these ‘So Kates’ all day long. It was that first time she wore them and she collapsed. She said, ‘I have to take these shoes off.’ I said, ‘You’re not going to take these shoes off.’ And she kept them on, and the next day she put them on again, and the day after that she put them on again.”
“She could wear them all day”
“That kind of became our thing,” Roach continued on the podcast about the shoes, adding. “Now her feet are just trained. She could wear them all day, she could dance in them, she could throw her legs up, she can walk down stairs in them.” The stylist also made it clear that Zendaya does not receive any money from Christian Louboutin to wear the shoes. “They’ve never written us a check. It’s always been a really authentic relationship, she just loves the shoes.” A good relationship with the label has apparently developed: “I’m really good friends with Christian because of that, and I know his team all over the world,” Law Roach continued. “And when we need one in an emergency situation, they call the store and do everything they can to get her the shoe because it has become so synonymous with her.”
