Responding to criticism is not easy for everyone – some of those affected’ responses are quite sensitive. And when media professionals from press offices are involved, the reactions often seem like the knee-jerk part of a diversionary strategy designed to ensure that legitimate criticism falls behind. Anyone who reads the so-called fact check that Deutsche Bahn’s corporate communications prepared after the ZDF program “Deutsche Bahn: The insider tricks behind the scenes” on the allegations from the program will, however, come across criticism of the reporting, which is partly astonishingly valid.
