“You’re next”…. The high school student who threatened a teacher pleads a joke

After forty-eight hours in police custody, the high school student who threatened one of his teachers from his Snapchat account was presented to a juvenile judge. “Having no criminal record, and in view of the maximum prison sentence incurred (5 years), he will be the subject of a two-stage legal procedure,” specifies the public prosecutor of Béziers, Raphaël Balland .

Initially, he will be summoned to a so-called “guilt” hearing on December 14. The children’s judge will then decide whether he is guilty of the crime of making death threats in writing towards his teacher. If found guilty, he will then be subject to a sanction at a hearing which will be set within the following six months at most, following educational follow-up measures.

Released on parole pending trial

By December 14, the children’s judge ordered the implementation of a provisional educational judicial measure entrusted to the judicial protection of youth. He is also prohibited from attending his Marc-Bloch high schoolin Sérignan, and to get in touch with the economics professor, victim of the threats.

“Throughout his hearings, the minor [de nationalité française] maintained that it was a joke, while admitting that it was stupid,” recalls the prosecution. “At the same time, he made comments in support of the Palestinian cause, while affirming his attachment to the Muslim religion which he practices assiduously. »
