Young man kidnapped from bar in exchange for ransom

A young man was kidnapped from a hookah bar in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, on the evening of May 7 to 8. According to BFMTV, two men entered the establishment shortly after midnight and forced him to follow them. They allegedly forced him to get into a Fiat 500 before fleeing.

Shortly after, they allegedly sent his father a photo of their hostage, lifeless on the ground, the barrel of a handgun pointed at his head. They reportedly demanded 33,000 euros for his release.

Injured, the victim was discovered around 4 a.m.

The father would have notified the emergency services and a false delivery of ransom would have been organized. A man who came to collect the money was reportedly arrested. The car used in the kidnapping was discovered in a street in the 19th arrondissement. The victim, injured in the head and body, was found around 4 a.m., walking in the streets of Asnières. The young man was hospitalized.

The Paris public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation and entrusted the investigation to the first judicial police district in order to resolve the many gray areas surrounding this case.
