The list of American rappers shot gets longer. Now 36-year-old Young Dolph died when he was shot at from a moving car on Wednesday.

US rapper Young Dolph is dead. The 36-year-old was shot dead on Wednesday in a biscuit shop in Memphis, Tennessee, police said. According to media reports, he was shopping at Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies in Memphis when a gunman pulled up and shot him.

According to a statement from the Memphis Police Department, initial information suggests the victim was Thornton. The police have not yet identified a suspect. As the US celebrity portal “TMZ” writes, it would not be the first time that Young Dolph has been shot. In 2017, he was injured so badly in a shootout that he had to be operated on. According to the rapper, jealousy and hatred were the perpetrators’ motives at the time.

Young Dolph: who was the rapper?

Young Dolph was born Adolph Thornton Jr. in Chicago in 1985. At the age of two he moved with his two brothers to live with his grandmother in Memphis, where he also grew up. He also had two sisters who stayed in Chicago. After high school, he decided against college and instead focused on his musical career. In 2009 he released his first mixtapes in the Dirty South style, a subgenre of hip hop.

In 2014 Young Dolph made his breakthrough with the song “Preach” from the mixtape “High Class Street Music 4”. His son was born in the same year. In 2016 his debut album “King of Memphis” was released, which made it to number 49 in the US album charts. In his career, the rapper has also worked with artists such as 2 Chainz and Rick Ross. The rapper had a fan base of 4.5 million followers on Instagram.
