Two men are fatally injured when a train arrives in Kleinheubach, Bavaria. The background is still unclear.

Two In Lower Franconia, men got caught between the carriages of an approaching train, fell onto the track bed and were fatally injured. According to the current state of the investigation, the two 22- and 37-year-olds were alone on the platform at Kleinheubach train station on Saturday evening, the police said.

There were witnesses who saw the two men alone on the platform, a police spokesman said. But no one saw the actual process. The witnesses were looked after by specialists immediately afterwards.

The exact circumstances of the incident were initially not known. The police are investigating in all directions, said the spokesman when asked. Witness statements can be used to rule out the possibility that there was an unknown third person. It was not immediately known whether the two men knew each other or whether the incident was preceded by an argument.
